Film Editor, but

I would describe myself as a multi-hyphenate Aesthete. After dedicating my studies to the design world, I found the connection to the one of films and shifted my career to editing. I believe that the creative path is the most extensive path that automatically connects all creative aesthetic arty routes and never stops surprising one with new touching passions and inspirations. In other words, there is diversity in aptitudes for some people. Using different media as tools for bringing out their passion to bring certain touching work into life. Be it through decoration, flower design, designing a place that people feel inspired by, be it a film, be it a dance, quote, poetry, etc. The main thing is that it comes with pure authenticity from inside and then touches people.

About my life

I am from one of the oldest cultural cities called Alexandria, Egypt, which used to be the Paris of the Middle East before the 1980s. Unfortunately, it is no longer the place it once was. One needs to pierce its many veils in order to perceive its Mediterranean, multicultural, dust-covered beauty. Alexandria was the place where I grew up, went to the German School and became an adult. Cologne is the place where I got to know my adult self.

My skills are my passion for editing, design, art, culture, decoration, dance and music. My adrenaline spikes and my interest peaks whenever I encounter work by sincerity and a good heart. Thus, I naturally gravitate to the beauty in everything. I am moved by that which is beautiful in nature, architecture, interior design, dance, poetry, food, music, art, books, etc. In other words I am an Aesthete.

Why Editing?

I like telling stories and the idea of combining different media, sceneries and sounds to create something that might inspire people. Besides the real, some of us tend to see surreal scenes in our minds or dreams and want to bring them to life in the form of edited movies, which could be incredibly inspiring. When sound and image are brought to work in special ways, they elicit physiological responses, the most important of which are those goose bumps we sometimes get when a work touches us inexplicably. These are powerful moments for me, and I believe they are for others, too. And these moments are products of humility, sincerity, and originality – three attributes I look for and value tremendously in both people and their productions.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always having a solution?

I try to train myself to renounce the material as much as I can. The only gadget I could hardly do without is some kind of music player. The rest are frills.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?

Currently, I'm into Herman Hesse. Honestly, I can't tell. However, any kind that touches me. It's what's behind the "melody".
